Immune therapies are promising treatments for a variety of diseases that have previously been difficult to treat; however, immune function remains complex and dynamic. Incomplete understanding of immune response can limit development of effective immune therapies at each phase of development, minimizing the potential benefit of advanced therapies. Single-cell proteomics helps to shed light on immune function by characterizing individual immune cells, giving researchers a better idea of overall immune system activity. These insights can then help to reveal mechanisms of disease progression, improve immune therapy development, and identify cells driving immune responses.
